"I have always viewed ministry as a privilege. The ministry of our church is just that...ministry. It is introducing the lost person to the salvation that comes in Christ. It is spiritually growing every believer by teaching and applying Scripture in relevant, applicable ways. It is expressing Christ through meeting various needs of those in our church, community, and world. It is fellowshipping together, realizing it is only a mirror of the fellowship we will have in Heaven."
Lisa and I have been married since 1994. She is my encourager and best friend. We have two children Hayden and Madison.
I enjoy spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and watching or playing sports. But the most exciting thing of all is leading someone to the saving grace of Jesus Christ!
John Coleman - Minister of Music & Education E-mail John"I have served at FBC, Pleasanton for 29 years in the music and education ministries of our church. I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft Worth in 1980 and prior to that Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. "
"My wife, Lisa, serves side by side with me as an intregal part of my life and ministry. We have 3 adult children: Michael, a computer analyst for Bryan ISD, Jamie, an education major at Angelo State & Landon, our very own U.S Marine."
"God has greatly blessed us by calling us to be part of this wonderful church family. We're here to serve, to minister, to equip believers, and to share the gospel with our community and wherever our church sends us to minister in Christ's name."
"This is a place where you can grow in grace by discovering your spiritual potential, be encouaged by other believers, and find many opportunities for service."
"This is a praying church, a worshipping church, a caring church, and a Bible-based church seeking to spread God's light into every corner of our world. We welcome you to come visit us and hope you'll join us in our mission of following Christ's command to make disciples wherever we go."

Rosy Smith - Ministry of Senior Adults
Howard Payne University: 1971 – Bachelor of Science/Elementary
I have served here at FBC for over 6 years as Senior Adult Minister and felt that God placed me here for a purpose. My husband, Jimmy, and I came to this area seven years ago after serving nearly 16 with the International Mission Board. We lived in Guatemala during those years. My husband is the Director of Missions in the Frio River Baptist Association. Jimmy and I have been married for 37 years and have two grown children and four wonderful grand children. God has used us in many places to further His kingdom and we feel very honored to serve Him.
Serving our Lord in this position has kept me on my toes. Senior Adults are a great group of people to work with. You can learn so much from them because they give so freely. My goal is to keep our group growing spiritually, and striving to seek God’s plan in each of their lives. Through my ministry, I want to give each person a challenge to keep seeking God’s Will for their lives and to continue to serve the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and body. We do have some good times as we gather together to eat, play games, visit, cook, go on day trips or whatever we feel like doing. God is so good to let us have these good and fruitful years to enjoy after raising our family.
I like to play card games, cook, crochet, and read Christian romance novels. My greatest joy is when I can hold and love on my four grandchildren. Our son, Lantz and Amber, have one son, Connor (8). Our daughter, Marci and James, have three children, Taylor (7), Emily (6) and Micah (4). I’ll take as many as they give me.
Cathy Tavernier - Financial Secretary I have had the honor and privilege of serving here at FBC for over 17 years as the financial secretary. Through this journey God has taken a very shy, insecure young lady and helped her become a woman who draws her strength from HIM and found her value as one of HIS children. A woman who is discovering day by day who she is in Christ and is seeking to please HIM with every breath she takes. A woman who fails often BUT knows she has a loving, merciful FATHER who will restore her as soon as she repents. WOW...what an awesome GOD we serve! Only in and through the LORD JESUS CHRIST could this transformation ever be possible. He is the lover of our souls and HE longs for us to spend time with HIM. PRAISE GOD!
My husband, Chris, and I love to travel and our favorite place is Colorado any time of the year! There's just something about GOD and the mountains...
We also love to hike and bike, but my favorite hobby is working with our horse, Roxy. I am so glad GOD made horses!
Associate in Secretarial Science - Bee County College
I am truly blessed to serve at First Baptist Church. Before working in the church office, God most graciously blessed me with working for the FBC Child Development Center, as a PreSchool Teacher for eight years. Then in 1999 I was added to the FBC Church staff as the receptionist and publicity secretary. God has given me a deeper meaning of Agape love, through the many relationships I've made while working here at First Baptist Church. Caring, sharing and praying together so that all may know of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
My husband (Terry Huth) and I have been married since February 10, 1979. God blessed us with two sons, Jeremy & Luke, who are adults now and both reside in Pleasanton. You might say Terry and I are empty nesters.
My hobbies are hiking, camping and going to the beach. Favorite places to go are New Mexico in the summer and Corpus Christi, TX in February.
